Lately as things go wrong, I try to keep in mind that my problems are just nothing at all compared to what some people around the world are going through. And the more I think about how many things could be wrong, I feel more lucky than troubled.
It's freakishly frequent that just after I've pondered something there's a similar line in a book or a fortune cookie or an announcement on tv that pops up immediately afterward. Today it was a Doctor Seuss quote, which I came across on the internet while looking for something unrelated:
"It's a troublesome world. All the people who're in it
are troubled with troubles almost every minute.
You ought to be thankful, a whole heaping lot,
for the places and people you're lucky you're not."
