A SALLE, Texas -- A teenager said he shot what may be a chupacabra. Carter Pope, 13, said he woke up Sunday in La Salle, Texas, and saw a strange animal. "Something slowly came across and started shaking, slowly moving across," Carter said. "It was gray, no hair at all. I thought, that's a chupacabra."
I feel really disappointed that I live where it's "normal" for a teen to believe in chupacabras, for him to have access to the family gun, and that he's allowed to go out in the middle of the night to shoot anything he can't instantly recognize.
It's not like it had bat-wings and breathed fire --- it looks just like a very sick hairless dog.
Worse, there are news station that cover the story as though there is any possibility he's killed an actual chupacabra, even though every supposed chupacabra found and reported so far has been proven to be a coyote with mange. Sure, leave this important detail out, but be sure to include the teen's gun-toting, smiling pic next to the corpse.
Heart-warming, informative story. The chupacabra legend continues...
